[edit] Opinion: Have fun with your Teens

While it is crucial for parents to be role models and carry out endless responsibilities, it is equally important for parents to laugh, share good jokes and do some fun things with their teens. Sharing jokes and smiling together strengthens the bond that family members share and goes a long way in building a good relationship between parents and children.

[edit] Teen Commandments

# Thou shall not sneak out when parents are sleeping (why wait that long)
# Thou shall not do drugs (alcohol lasts longer, not to mention being cheaper)
# Thou shall not steal from K-Mart (Wal-Mart has a bigger selection)
# Thou shall not be arrested for vandalism (destruction has a bigger effect)
# Thou shall not steal from your parents (everyone knows grandma has more money)
# Thou shall not get into fights (Cat fight anyhow...just start them)
# Thou shall not skip class (just take the whole day off)
# Thou shall not wear revealing clothes in class (Hooters pays more)

[edit] Make The Beds

When we put our house up for sale, I stressed emphatically that my sons make their beds each morning. I left for work before they left for school, and I wanted to be sure that the house looked presentable when the agent showed it to prospective buyers.

I was surprised and impressed that my 15-year-old son's bed was perfectly made each day. One night when I went into his room, I discovered his secret.

He was fast asleep on the floor in his sleeping bag.

[edit] Political Correctness for Teenagers

* No one fails a class anymore, he's merely "passing impaired."
